Poopy Drawers?

Tucson, AZ

So, I noticed that one of my hens has a bit of dried poo on her behind feathers. Not a lot and she is still laying but I wanted to clean her feathers off. I didn't want to just pull the poop off because I might pull feathers. When this happens to hens-what is the best method for poo removal? Washing them? Clipping the feathered area? Suggestions? I live in a really hot climate so no worries about the hen staying wet for long.

AZ, no expert here, but I have one thats is 11 weeks and shes been doing that the entire time..

I set her but in a warm bucket, loosen as much as I can.. then clip with the scissors.. just to give myself a break.. If I don't keep the feathers off of there she would be just as bad tomorrow.. as it is, I only have to clean her up weekly.

Thanks for the input. Too bad I can't send her to a Hen day spa! :)
