Hi, I wanted to just do a quick hello before I posted! I grow more Episcias and other gessies than AV's, but I do have a few that I love! In any case, a pleasure to "meet" yo all!
New to the forum
Celene,
Welcome to the "family" here :)
You are absolutely going to love it.
Most of the ladies grow the "other gessies" but we all seem to have at least 1 african violet kickin' around *lol*
We love pictures and chat alot. I have found this to be the BEST forum on Dave's *lol* I call it "home" and hope you do too :)
Welcome..........now go find some pictures *lol*

Hi Celene!
Welcome to the AV/Gessie forum! ^_^ Many of us grow more other Gessies than we do AVs. That includes me. LOL My favorites are Streps, Sinningias and Petrocosmeas, but I've got a sprinkling of all different kinds of Gessies.
We do love to chat about about most anything and pictures are simply divine! Hope you'll share some of your beauties with us! ^_^

Hi Celene
Well I try and grow all kinds of plants and all I can say is they are still here. Right now I am not on to much as I work during the Summer and off in the Winter so I pop in and ask all kinds of questions. Maybe on the weekends or if I am not to tired. I have found that being on Dave's has made me very happy and everyone is so nice and giving. Don't be afraid to as a question someone will no. Happy to have you will pop in again. I just ordered this a few week's ago and I love the color it call I think Waterfall I hope I have 2 with almost the same colors
Good to have you

Welcome Celene,
Glad to have you join us! My interest is mainly streps but like everyone else I have a variety of gessies that I'm growing ...... All because of the great people here and the trading we've done!! ^_^ It has really broadened my horizons and allowed me to find and grow some unique plants and make great friends! Friends who understand the whole "playing plants" thing. LOL
Beautiful strep Dimmer!

Welcome to the forum. I have a bit of this and that. Most of my things have come from people here. They are pretty kind.
Hi Celene ... Welcome to the AV Forum! I see you've been a subscriber to DG since 2002 so you aren't a newbie like me. I subscribed in the fall of 2006 and mostly lurked on different forums until I found all these wonderful ladies here! (Sometimes a couple of guys pop in the AV forum too.) I do post occasionally on a couple of other forums but this is the one I call "Home" where most of my time is spent when in the garden!
I grow a whole lot of different plants, and love the gesneriad's but unfortunately a lot of them don't like me. I have always grown an African Violet or two over the years and never, ever knew there were so many different ones available. I had no idea any of them came with variegated foliage and I was hooked when I saw photo's that folks posted on this forum. Like Sally's African Violet in the picture above ... that variegated foliage just really gets me! I am always swooning over the beautiful photo's of Streptocarpus that these ladies post too but Strep's have not done well for me ... I've killed more than I care to count! There are just so many gorgeous and beautiful gesneriad plants out there! My favorites have become the Episcia's, I have about 6 or 7 ... and Chirita's which I have a couple of too.
Please join in all the fun and games here in Gessie land! Yes, we even play games sometimes - AV Bingo, with a new game each month, usually in the winter time! We laugh and have a grand time and enjoy each other's company tremendously!
So, again ... Welcome to the African Violet Forum! Look forward to chatting with you and seeing photo's of your plants!
