This is a living coffee table I made last summer. I now want to "convert it" to a miniature garden.
Living coffee table conversion to "Miniature Gardens" scene
wow... is that cool
Here is an arbor I want to buy:

This site has LOTS of neat outdoor miniature stuff...
seedpicker_TX, you are a wealth of info!! Love the table conversion, too!
Thanks!
Thank you!
Besides coffee table, I've also seen birdbaths, troughs and even a wheelbarrow planted!
Someone else mentioned their old bbq, so possibilities are endless for the initial container...
seedpicker_TX, I liked the table befor but making it a mini garden is GREAT!
Thanks Taylor for sharing. This truly brings out the kids in us!
seedpicker - I absolutely love your living coffee table! That is the coolest looking coffee table I've ever seen! I can't wait to see how you transform it for Fairies! Please do post a photo when you do!!! :-)
you have so much to share with us. I LOVE the birdbath -- where did you buy that from? I have to get one of those for my fairy I'm getting ready to buy.
Hi Maureen- thank you :0)
Actually, I bought the birdbath on ebay(it came in a lot set with the garden bench, and the watering can and secateurs). I was on ebay today, and it is dangerous!, lol...
But, I noticed while looking at one of the miniature sites, they they have it on the dollhouse collectables site:

Thanks Seedpicker. Do you know who you bought it from on ebay? I saw it on the website you listed, but it's pricey for just a birdbath (at least for my budget :-)
Your mini gardens are so beautiful. Do you also have any fairys in your gardens?
I don't remember, but I can tell you it wasn't a miniature business. It was just an individual wanted to unload some doll stuff. I think it was less than $20 for everything(the bench, watering can, secateurs, and birdbath).
There also were some pottery pieces, but they got crushed in delivery.
Maybe you can plug in one of those "watch"s on ebay to watch for the words bird bath in the miniatures section. It will email you every time one is posted, and then you can keep close watch?
But, watch out on ebay!! I looked last night and it was dangerous
I'll try to mention it, if I see it somewhere else cheaper. It seemed kinda high to me, too, but then again I pretty much paid $20 for mine, since it was the primary reason I bought the whole lot. :0)
I think one of the reasons that it is so much higher than the other birdbaths, is that it is real metal. It is almost "heavy", lol...
HI Seedpicker. Thank you very much for this info. I was laughing when I read that your birbath was "almost heavy". LOL. I was going to get one from Enchanted gardens but it was out of stock. I'll be buying from them again because the Willow fairy was out of stock and I MUST have her:-) So when I go back to buy her, I will look again for the birdbath - I think theres was about 9.00 or less.
This is so much fun@!!!
well, I am with you guys... totally! I had so much fun doing the mini garden for the turtles. My mom told me that it was like watching me playing with my dolls when I was a kid... so funny! I have always collected small things and now I just want to use it all I have!!!
Wow, I love that coffee table. Can you tell us how you made it. What did you start with and where did you get it? I just love love love it.
Gwen
Gwen-
If you really love it, then you can binge on these two threads, lol...I posted in the Garden art forum:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/743757/
and in the Trash to Treasure forum(since it was found in the trash!):
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/743507/
The Trash to Treasure thread is the one that has pictures of the construction process
Thanks, I will head to those 2 threads now!
