Deer Damaged Plants

Lawrenceville, GA(Zone 7b)

I had some deer come through and do a number on some cukes and squash. They mainly ate the leaves and left the stems and vines alone. There are still some baby cukes on them.

Are these plants damaged beyond hope? Or will they come back?

I'll try to post some pics when I get home.

It may depend in good part on the temperatures. I'd let them try and recoup a few days. You should know pretty quickly if they go in to a *terminal* meltdown. :)

BronxBoy, I had problems with deer until I started last year, putting cut-up pieces of "Irish Spring" soap in my garden! It works! Now I have something that has stripped my bean plants bare. I've heard that spreading human hair will keep rabbits away.Thik my beans will recoup?

Bush beans? If so, then I doubt it. You are most likely about getting too hot for bush beans anyway but I'd think you could plant them for a fall crop.

My wife’s old pet goose nearly destroyed our pole beans. Surprisingly the beans recovered quickly. Seems she has an appetite for beans but did not touch the other vegetables.

I'll give the soap a shot as well.

I'll try anything at this point
