BIG LEAVES
LariAnn, How about some pictures of your GIANTS. Jerry
I'll have to post pics of some of my Robudoras; I have one with leaves about that large now and it is still in a 2 gallon pot!! Just wait till I put it in a 25 gallon pot.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you have any new pics. of your ALO. X Brisbanewaves. And Borneo Tsunamiwaves??????? Jerry
Jerry,
Your Blue Portoras are looking mighty fine there. Should be really nice by end of summer. My Borneo Tsunami Waves are blooming right now so they are not getting any larger. I am crossing with them, including F2, which should bring back the deeper lobing in the leaves on, hopefully, a much larger plant than A. portei. I'm also mixing them up with Imperial Giant and Sinuate Mac, all biggies.
The Brisbane Waves went into blooming in late winter so as you know, the leaf size went way down. Sadly, the plant is sterile so I can't do any more work with it. It also seems to go root dormant in winter (loses all roots but regrows them in spring).

Texas, How long have your Borneo's been growing? & what zone are you in?
I'm in Phoenix, but planted mine next to my pond with a.m. sun. Their only about 8 inches high, can't wait for them to get BIG ☺
Thanks for the extra pic! Mine wants to be just like yours when it grows up ☺
I just love these big leaf plants. 2 months ago I planted 4 Elephant Ear bulbs from Home Depot. Today they are 50" tall & the leaf is 22" x 17". Can't wait to see how big they are at the end of Summer. What a show that will be. Too bad I don't have a camera.
Hi Jerry; I think you're right. If we don't get a frost they should grow the yr. round. We usually get fair warnimg when a frost is expected so I can bring them inside. I grow them in pots. They won't grow in my soil. I have tried several times with no luck. I would like to try other big leaves. Where do you get yours? That Borneo Giant is a beauty! I better start looking for some more really big pots.
