What is the difference between the MR11 and the MR16 halogen bulb?

My guess would be the placement of the pins on the bottom of the bulb??

We have several strings of three egglites. One is two years old and we kept it burning as Christmas lights throughout last winter. I was just wondering, as I was looking for replacemtn bulbs, what the two different nmbers were (MR11 and MR16). You're probably right about the pin placement, altho they look identical.
I searched Google for replacement MR11's and found prices ranging all the way from $1.99 through $7.99. The local Home Depot has them for $7.79. One online supplier has them in pkgs of 6 for $17.50 or singly at $2.99 each.
