hello newbie from mississippi

Bentonia, MS

hi my name is tina. i did not know about the welcome mat until just now. i have been a member for about a month. i have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. i am using my flowers as therapy for my illness. i had to wuit work due to the illness a couple years back. i just started doing flowers in my yard in feb 08. my mom and sister gave me one of each of the lily collection from gilbert wild. i have iris, amarillos, hostas and a few other bulbs mom and sister gave me. i ordered some daylilies in feb 08 for my birthday present from mom and sister. i then ordered more for mothers day. i have been bitten by the daylily bug. my husband is the care taker for a hunting club. the boss pays some utilities, gives a small pay each week and provides us a trailer. so we are on a very fixed income. the camp is on 1000 acres. i have a ton of space to put flowers out. i love any kind of flower and it is really helping my condition. my husband said today he was glad that i had dave's garden to talk to my "friends" about flowers because he just does not understand or care about them. he just clears off land for me to plant more. i am happy to be anyones compost pile. if you have something you are going to throw away or compost please let me know. thank you so much for all the wonderful people at dave's garden. friends in flowers, tina

welcome tina it is nice to meet you. I also have fibro and had to quit work at early age of 31 or so. I enjoy flowers too and dave's garden is a way for people to share flowers and ideas. There is a forum called accessible gardening and there are others who have fibro and other health issues and it is nice to talk to someone who understands. Dmail me and we can chat and get to know each other. I have had fibro for 15 years or so and so I know your pain. Have a great day.

Welcome to DG, Tina.
Your place sounds like a great area to plant flowers and enjoy nature.
I also have fibro, seems like alot of folks do.
I'd love to hear more about your place on the hunting club property.
