I bought some new irises last year that just started blooming. I really like all of them. This one is called 'So Fine'.

This is 'Beverly Sills'.
This one is called 'Superstition'. The flower is darker than it looks in the picture.
We also have lots of nice ones with no names. I really like this one.
This one is as tall as me.
This is a new one that I've never seen before. It may be the one a friend gave me last fall. It's really pretty but it's not the best picture.
That first one is a stunner.

Yes, I think that first one is my favourite.....although it is hard to pick just one. :-)
My superstition has just bloomed today and you are right much darker than the photo. Appears jet black from a distance of a couple of feet.
I also like the first one but am drawn to the Beverly Sills even though I'm not a "pink" type of person.

Gorgeous Sandy. I didn't think there was a true red iris? but the one you posted sure looks red to me.
Thanks. Yes that purple and white one does look a match for Rare Treat oltmanns. Dahlianut...it does look quite red but it's actually reddish brown.
Here's a better picture of the cream and brown one. The person who gave it to me said it's called 'English Charm' and it is supposed to be a repeat bloomer. However, she said hers didn't repeat bloom last year. We shall see.

Well, I can't just look without saying something. I missed a lot of threads this summer. These are all so lovely. Sure makes me long for iris season again.
Spring will be here soon echoes. Daffodils are in bud in Arizona! I'm breaking out the shorts and flipflops in anticipation ^_^

Ha! That's perfect. I have been around here long enough to see quite a few of us go a little nutty every winter. And it's only starting.
well really winter still hasn't arrived here. My mom turned 93 yesterday and i was able to pick a small bouquet of snaps from the garden for the dinner table. Now the blooms are small but they are definitely there. Again remind me about what is really bad about global warming???
