Well, my town and the towns around it have flooded. We are safe on a hill, but have to take the long way around to get anywhere. We are lucky though. So many people right now are out of a home and sleeping in cots at the high school. The Red Cross and the National Guard are down here helping but I'm afraid that it may have been too late. My post office has been moved to the next town over (Winfield), but now it looks like they may flood too, so I'm fixing to call Ideal and see if I can change my date of shipping for a few weeks. I think that my small inconvenience is nothing compared to what's happening all around me. I was hoping that the flooding wouldn't have been so bad, but yesterday afternoon another important levee broke and the water came gushing in destroying homes and farmland. To make matters worse the water will stagnate, and breed mosquitos, blah!. You should see all the news vans set up and news choppers out here! CNN is here too! So many people are driving down here to gawk that some have to wait in traffic forever while trying to get back to their homes to pack up more stuff. Please send positive thoughts to all the flood victims out there, they really need it!
Please send good thoughts this way!
So sorry Patch.. thoughts are with you guys.. our NG just headed down there Sunday to help bag.. hoping to stop the levees.. yell via dmail if I can do anything personaly

Oh my gosh Patch, how awful! My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to everyone there! I can't begin to imagine the grief that everyone is going through right now.
I wish all the people that are there 'just to see' would get out of the way so people can at least attempt to save of their things. Will people ever get sick of 'gawking' at the distress and misery of others? It all is so sad.
I'm so sorry this is all happening....not just in your area, but everywhere.
Best Wishes,
Christy
So sorry Patch--everytime I see the news I worry about you and the other DGers out there. We're in a drought and you have more than you can handle--it doesn't seem fair. Best wishes.
What a mess. I know it is frustrating especially when you have people who get in the way just to take a look.
We have friends that live south of St Louis that we haven't been able to get hold of to see how they are. Hopefully they are high and not flooded but we don't know.
Take care up there. Hope the madness stops soon. Too bad you can't send some of that rain to much needed areas. Crazy how the weather is, dry as a bone one place and way too wet at another.
thinking of you... dmailingyou...
I'm sooo sorry Patch...My thoughts and prayers for all of you in the path of that mess....
Dusty
Wish I could do more, but sending good thoughts your way, in any event.
Thanks for the thoughts guys!!! People definately need them! I can't say personally what it's like to go through this, I lost everything in a fire once and that was terrible, so I can imagine. I'm not sure what people will need yet, probably clothes, food, toiletries, ect. The Red Cross will help too, but not sure what they'll be able to do about building supplies and such. We shall see soon enough though. Once again, thank you for your kind thoughts and wishes!
