Pathetic ranunculus question

Which way does a ranunculus bulb go in to the ground? Little tubers up or down? Mine did not come up and I throught that I may have put them in upside down.

That's what I thought and how I put them in. Either they weren't good or maybe a critter ate them. Seem to have more the normal critter problems here this year. I appreciate the answer because I really wasn't sure.

I would always look and see if they are still there.

When did you plant them? How deep?

I put them in about the first week in June. I planted them 2" down.

I bet you that when you would look, they would just be 'sitting' there or just a iny tiny bit of growth. Make sure they are watered well, but that the drainage is good. They do not like to sit in the mud. Also, when buying Anemones and Ranunculus, soak them in a cup of water for an hour or 2 before planting.
