I've grown moonflowers for years but had never seen or heard of Devil's Trumpet. A friend gave me some this morning. Isn't it beautiful?

darkmoondreamer - just wait a year -you'll be up to your eyeballs w/ those plants. I put a white one in the backyard last year by accident instead of angel's trumpet & I have pulled up almost 75 seedlings since then - they even made it over a privacy fence & are growing in the front yard! Beautiful blooms on the one I let grow in the backyard this year but it opened 12 blooms last night is about 3' tall & easily 5' wide & no slowing down in sight. They do really well in our area to say the least...LOL. Happy Gardening!

Can't hurt to try - what do you have to lose except some time & dirt. Oh & "Eyes" you are more than welcome to them - smell pretty but invasive as heck - want some orange cannas too? Got about 40-50 of them I want to get rid of too. LMK if you want some & I'll pull you up some of the whites & pot them for you & holler at me next time you come to W'boro & you can swing by & pick them up. Live right off the spur from 377 to 56 near the nursing home here in town.
Good thing I always look when I let the dogs out before bed ...I'd been watching it so I could catch it blooming.
Just picked up two of these myself - Datura metel w/purple petticoats - amazing bloom! Glad to hear it comes back well!

trades on DG - right now I have 2 seed pods ripening
Catssndogs, cut the seed pod off after blooming & they are easy to keep in check.

Eyes, I love those and would love even more to get a start of them. Would you share at the next ru? I have some that are a little more than half that size and are lighter pink if you would like some of them.

Charlene and Karen...will try to root, if not should have seeds by then and they will difinitely go...I have the smaller, lighter pink ones too, Charlene....but these are the show stopper...Belladonna....next up, I'm after a Luna..

It's a Hardy Dinner Plate Hibiscus...Belladonna is the name of this pink...I'm looking for the Red one now...it's called "Luna".

eyes.. sooo gorgeous!! I have the light pink with reddish eye.. I guess the same Charlene is talking about. Just got it this spring.. and now I have another addiction!! I have the red confederate rose.. and they are mighty pretty rtoo.. if ya'll want any LMK.. and I will start trying to root them for thr RU!!
