Bonnie, that sinningia is a to 'die for' color. Which vendor did you use if you don't mind telling me. I can see why you couldn't live without her.

Ok, after drooling over your lovely sinns Bonnie I'm heading upstairs to work with mine!! Going to make sure they are all happy so I can see more blooms and fuller plants like yours! ^_^

Brenda,
Bonnie suggested I place mine on a capillary mat and close to the lights. Evidently they love that moisture coming up around them and then she said to let them dry before watering again.

Oh, what a nice Sinn. Love the color and the unusual shape of that bloom too! Do you think the bloom will open wider in time?

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

the bloom on this plant is called a double calyx.it has another bloom. but has not oped all the way.

You really got a good one, Bonnie. I went to the same vendor and she didn't have much to look for.
Thanks for the information though.

Gail I'm going to try using my self watering Oyama planters for the few sinns I have for now ... I'm not ready to set up capillary mats or wicking yet .... maybe this fall as I know it would really be a time saver for me .... watering all my single plants one by one is a chore right now. But still it is my relaxing zen time and so far I still enjoy it no matter how time consuming!

Bonnie the bloom on this one reminds me of the Playful Porpoise sinningia I ordered. It came with blooms but it was so long and lanky I cut it up ...we'll see when I see blooms from it again!

actually playful porposie bloom is totally different, here is another picture where you can see the double flower.
