I got this at a plant exchange/sale at Sotterly Plantation in May. They have a plant exchange/sale (from their gardens) the day before Mother's Day each year. (for future reference) I don't know if it is annual or perennial.
Can anyone identify this plant?
Looks like strawflower to me. Here's some info. It's an annual but you might want to save some seeds if you like it.
