Need ID for night visitor!

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

I had several of these last night as I was trying to take pictures of the night blooms on the Missouri Primrose. I have looked everywhere and my eyes are crossed trying to find out what it is!! Can anyone ID for me? I think it is the same as the ones that would cover the Moonflower Vine at night last year. Many thanks,

Rose

Thank you Critter. Your article on the above link was very informative. Using a host plant also is proving to work very well as I have tomatoes growing next to the Primrose and they have not been touched at all! Thank you again for your kind words and the great article!

The best thing about writing that article were all the wonderful photos people generously shared for it! It was really a DG community effort, with me doing the "telling" and everybody helping with the "showing"... Even if it doesn't turn everybody into instant "hornworm huggers," I'm hoping it'll bring some more folks over here to the H & BF forum! (You'll notice I put a big green link right in the first paragraph.)

Great photo Rose!!! That one is sure a beauty!!!

I get sphinx moths on my morning glories and brugs (found the caterpillars happily munching away) but just never seem to be around at the right time to get a photo of them in flight.
