I am finding a number of birds here in Hawaii not in any of my books.... Is there an internet site you have found useful?
TIA

Bird ID Source?
What books do you have?
You'll need a dedicated Hawaii bird book, or one for the Pacific Ocean Islands, as Hawaii is not covered by any of the North America field guides - although Hawaii is politically part of the United States, it is not part of the continent of North America.

I have a native birds book and the Field Guide for Hawaii and Tropical Pacific...tho' they are about 8 years old.
Hi AlohaHoya! I have found Whatbird.com very useful. There is usually someone on the forum knowlegeable enough to ID almost any bird. When I'm not on this site I'm on Whatbird
TERRIFIC!!! That is JUST the information I am looking for!!! Going into town to look at books today...and i am sure the Whatbird.com is more uptodate/current.... As I write there are two Melodious Laughing Thrushes (maybe more) carrying on a Song Battle just off the lanai...they are hurling songs at eachother with a vengence!!!!
