i have a free range rooster and 4 hens who I let roam the goat yard finding all kinds of treats.They were wild game chickens I got from animal control.As unfriendly as they seem at times with each other,they were always together.Now my prettiest one has disappeared about 3 days ago.My question is....do they just do that from time to time or should I assume the worst...

If it is a hen, she may have a nest. Watch for her. She will probably come in to eat if she does.

I'm gone from about 12 to 7pm every day...still no sign.They're quite the egg layers though but even when she was on a nest,she would roost in the barn at night with the others.I let them hatch some chicks a couple months ago,so cute.
