A friend of mine took this picture of a toad in Puerto Rico. Does anybody know what kind it is?
Can anyone identify this toad?
How big is it? The only native toad to Puerto Rico is the Puerto Rican Crested Toad. It isn't one of those. There are only a few left in the wild. It is probably a Cane Toad, introduced in the 1930s to control white grubs. If it's big, that's what it is.
Thanks Stelco - I believe now that it is a cane toad. It is big. How unfortunate. I liked it until I found out it was a cane toad. :-(
