Can someone help to identifly what is this on hibiscus stem? IS this a disease or insect? How to cure?
What is this?
Definitely looks insect-like to me, my first thought was scale but they look a little spikier than the scale I usually have problems with. There are lots of different kinds though so it still could be. When I get scale, I usually first take a strong jet from the water hose and dislodge as many as possible, then if it's a small plant sometimes I'll manually remove ones that the hose left behind. Then I spray the whole thing with an insecticide, usually something with neem in it, that seems to work better on scale than insecticidal soap.
Thanks Ecrane3, your information is very helpful.
