But then when I go to trim it.....I just can't stop. Any one else have this problem?

I love it. It comes back every year, never a problem. I trim my down in the spring, but that's it. I can't stand the smell.

I guess I have to trim it before it gets to be sprawling. I actually like the smell....I must be weird.
It is a very nice plant. It compliments everything around it .

I'll be weird with you, Anna. I like the smell, reminds me of soap. Now I wonder if others think the soap I use stinks, lol.

I cut them back by just half in early Spring March/April. I like to keep them big, but if I don't trim they split and fall from the center.

I will let you know how you smell next RU!
Can we put an alert on this to remind me next year?I usually remember to trim only when I see plants getting leggy.

I love the way that powis castle is so soft and the way it sways in the breeze. There is nothing like it. (including the smell!!!!)

Sugar Land, TX

That's a beautiful plant! I love it.

Well Anna, I have written down in my garden notes to take you a blk. jack sedum and a quince the next time I see you. I'll also put down "remind Anna to trim artemisia" LOL

Jubabe, does it smell medicinal to you (i could see that) or just plain stink?

It doesn't stink like a skunk. I guess it is a medicinal type smell. I don't like the way Lantana smells either and my husband just loves it.
