You know, I can remember when there were predictions that mankind would blow up the planet before the year 2000. Well, here we are, still here on planet Earth, still very much alive, still trying to figure out which country is most powerful, how to best help the poor, etc. and still not much closer to the real answer than we were in the '50s, '60s, & '70s.
We're going to Columbia today for afternoon doctor appointments and to get rid of several bags of recycleables and see if we want anything out of the dumpsters that someone else has discarded. Shad collects blue wine bottles and corks. We usually find a few of those every trip. I guess I should get him a glass cutter so he can do SOMETHING with them other than set them up on the mantle and make it appear we are a bunch of wineos. Actually the only thing I use wine, brandies, or rums for is cooking. Mostly baking cakes.
I hope to be able to see KathyJo sometime this afternoon.
The weather is lovely today. It would be a great day for working all day in the yard. We all worked in the yard for varying lengths of time yesterday afternoon. It looks like we were doing a major deforesting out there. Ragweed, Lambs Quarters, etc. nearly 6' tall got cut down and the Pussy Willow and a mulberry tree got some serious prunning done to them with the chain saw.
What are gasoline prices like around the country? Ours have gone from $1.18.9 the 9th of this month(first day of the State Fair)to $1.69.9 last night. When will the madness stop? This will definetely curtail any unnessary driving for us possibly including trips to Powell Gardens.
Have a wonderful day, everyone. Keep counting your blessings.
