Couldn't stand looking at all the pics of the beautiful brugs any more and got me a couple from off the MarketPlace.
I put them in a glass of water witha few drops of hydrogen peroxide and they been in there about a week now. I been changign the water everyday.
They all got all these white thingies on them, that remind me of crystalized salt. I noticed yesterday when tryign to change the water that I knocked some of the white thingies off.
I know I need to stick them in some dirt, at least I think I should, but am wondering what is the best mix to put them in and one in soil, how often do I water them? it is very hot here and the humidty high. Do i put them in shade or sun or both?
I also saw the THE RECIPe thread and am really confused on which one I should use and do ya use it on the sticks too?
I have grown Datura from seed before but this my very first time growing brugs. I hope I stuck them in the water the right way. LOL They had a coupel tiny bugs on them so was hoping that was the up way.
Any advice for a really green nebie for these would be appreciated.
My first sticks! : )
Good morning Ella, finally you've join us brugmansia lovers. Welcome. Brugmansia rooting in water is fairly easy. Once you added few drops of peroxide into your water, you don't have to change out the water as often. I keep the water sometime a week and it's fine. The white nubs is where the root are being formed. When you see the root about an inch long you can safely pot them up. Hope other will charm in in regarding fertlizer. I don't fertlize mine while rooting for fear of algae growth in the water. Best of lucks and have fun.

Thanks for the advice. You grow brugs too???? Have to show me some of your pics of them. : )
Yes, I've got bitten by the brug's bugs. lol. I've some outdoor year round, and managed to save some in big pots to nuture them to give bigger flush of blooms. Here is one of my cuttings from last summer.
As far as the weather, we've had a good soaking rain last week, but since then it has eluded us too. I've used the irrigation system quite often, here comes the heat wave of the South.
