Getting rain today

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

It's been dry on the coast for a few weeks and we got a nice T-storm in the afternoon. But surprise surprise it's not letting up. I hope this goes on all night. I'm figuring we're a few inches short of rain this month or at least my pond is.

Doing my best rain dance.

Piedmont, SC(Zone 7b)

I wish we were that lucky. It is so dry here my grass is fried. My plants look pitiful. It is very discouraging. I have been sick and haven't been able to do any watering. Hopefully I will get to in the morning.

I am very glad you are getting rain.

Grass! What grass? Hahaha...so depressing. We have a half acre or so pond. The fish better learn to walk or their in trouble. I didn't know "watering" was a career path.

We got 1/2" inch here! I went out and danced in it! I figure I've got 2 days before I have to worry about individual plants and start watering again! A 2 day vacation is really big when it's as hot as it's been!

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

The last time I did a rain dance we got 19 inches!! I was really glad to see the rain!!

Sumter, SC(Zone 8a)

Never could dance the Disco or Electric Slide... It was more like the Indian Rain Dance. Can you picture it??? lol

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

the rain guage saud 4 1/2" here, and it looked like it rained hard from the way the plants were beat up and bent over or broken. we were away since thurs. so idk if we got some water in the guage that wasnt rain or not, but either way, we got a good amount of rain and we needed it!!

Sumter, SC(Zone 8a)

well do the hustle is right out of disco dazed and confused days LOL yep...I still love the electric slide....

...I just got done watching Sat nite Fever AGAIN for the umpteenth time...DVD is great...u can spd up thru the dull stuff and get right to the dancing...LOL

Hey did I tell you Darrin took Latin Dance lessons while he was in Costa Rica...oh my...no American woman is safe with him back home and armed with that amunition LOL

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

Sauve. Most the latin guys dance and are good at it. LOL.

Travel always helps your arsenal.

Not that dating is a combat sport.

Diehard I don't know about 4 1/2 inches but we got a couple at least. Didn't actually check, just guessing. Yard is nice a soft today. Hope it stays that way but I'm sure we'll be back to rock hard in a few days. All my citrus are going into their second flush so the rain was good timing.

We got another 4/10th's of an inch tonight---which makes almost an inch of rain this week! Two more days I don't have to water!!

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

I was hoping we would get some tonight but it looks like we missed it.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

ur wrong, core! we did get some( or at least i did)
i heard the rain and thaought that i had left the hose on and when i ran outside i realized that it was raining

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

I missed it. Few miles makes a difference some times.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

oh..... im sorry

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

It missed us too!! Maybe I better do my rain dance!!

surfside beach, SC(Zone 8b)

It got us in Surfside a couple of miles down the road from you tc.I went to the airport and it started to pour.17 business was soaked. When I came back to Surfside it had rained but not nearly as much.I'm not complaining,4 days without watering=happiness

Today the weather is heavenly. In the 60's at 6:00AM.I did some heavy planting of seedlings.I always get very enthusiastic about seed starting but by July run out of steam. This year we had no June so I ran out early but days like today give me a whole new outlook.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

After weeks without rain that noisy storm last Sunday only dropped 1/2" here and we haven't had any since. It was the same way early in the season last year; I hope the pattern breaks soon. The intense heat has almost been worse than the lack of rain.

Core, you are getting more flowers on your citrus? That sounds promising, guess I had better give mine some fertilizer and water and maybe I'll get lucky too.

I had an early appt. this morning and completely missed out on the beautiful gardening weather; it is hot as hades again. .

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

No new flowers just new leaves and branches coming out. My trees need to put on some size so I'm not real worried about the fruit. My peaches at last count had 8 peaches on them. I was a little to late in watering them and most of the small ones dropped off. Some time here I need to finish my irrigation system. Never did the back yard because I didn't figure I needed to. I'm tired of hand watering the fruit trees. I have salvia that are looking water starved. LOL. The one plant that seems to be loving life is a MG bush. I started a few from seeds and they just love sun, heat and not much water.

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

DSB--It started to rain as I left the airport around 6 pm and stopped around 16th ave N. So-- I had to water again!!

Kure Beach, NC(Zone 9a)

We've gotten several inches over the past week and got over an inch yesterday. More's on the way supposedly.
Thank God!

Getting more rain today. Haven't watered anything for a week. Nice.

Johns Island, SC

It's raining here again tonight! It's not the best kind of rain for plants (really hard rain for 15-20 minutes, then drizzle for 15-20 minutes, then nothing), but it has brought the water table up almost a foot this week, and that's a good thing!

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

See!! My rain dance worked!!!

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

Power went out here for a few hours, no idea why that happens. We got hard rain and then a let up and more hard rain not the best but it will do.

marshville,, NC(Zone 8a)

you rain dancers are invited to a dance at my place.....PLease!!!!

It has rained around here for the past week but it goes around us every time...like ...it stops at our property line! a mile away, it's a gully washer.

A curse...has someone laid a curse on us? (very small lol)

Foggy
