My neighbor sent a pic of the garden that we worked on between our houses to the Star Telegram and we ended up in the paper and in a little multimedia presentation... Thought I'd share it with you before it disappears..

My 15 minutes of fame.....
How neat! What beautiful flowers and a great way to build a friendship.
How wonderful, Linda....I'm gonna be in Granbury the 24th and 25th.......and one of the things I want to do is ride around town and look at all the gardens and shops with my Sis. Ain't it wonderful to have neighbors with like minds.

Thanks, Ladies. "Eyes," when I'm not in my garden, I work at a little shop on the square, The Rio Grande Mercantile. Don't know what my schedule is for that week, but if you have a chance stop in and say hi. You'd be welcome to come out and see our gardens, but I live way out in the boonies. Be sure to stop by and see tanarae at her nursery, Plantastic. It's great.
Linda, what a wonderful idea you two had. What a peaceful retreat you have.
Hello Linda, so glad you posted this. I never did find it in the star telegram site. What a nice garden you guy have created together. Looks like a great spot for an evening retreat. I know you guys all enjoy it. I enjoyed your visit as well. Come see me anytime. Tanarae
Linda that is a super write-up and such a cool friendship, good-neighbor think to do. I love the setting, and the pick yourself up attitude you both had after the flood. Way to go!!
(Got any Gulf Frits this year??) I don't have any that I can see, but the black swallowtail know where I live!
Linda, what a lovely surprise!! It looks like you have completely recovered from the flood.
It makes me very happy to see that all is going well, and you have a lot of your favorite color, purple.
Maybe we will see you this fall at the Arlington swap.
Congratulations!!!.
I'll try to get by and see you both Linda.

Good for you and your neighbor. Everyone needs a little wild space.
What a nice, "neighborly" story!
That's GORGEOUS, sugarfoot!!!
That is a beautiful write up on you and your neighbor. Don't we all wish we had neighbors like that.
Really NICE! Good Job!
That is what I call good neighbors. You did a beautiful job, it looks so peaceful. How neat to be 'written up' in the paper.
Thanks for all the nice comments. It is really fun to have a neighbor to work with. You know, I think tolerance is the key. She tolerates my "messiness" and I tolerate her feeding the deer who sometimes come over and eat my roses for dessert, etc. We got our wish for a gardening neighbor on the other side of my house, too. They moved in the week the article appeared in the paper and have great plans for their backyard, too.
Tanarae, I'll be in to see you as soon as I have everything planted that I already have. I think you might be reading my Obit if I bring anything else home before I get everything in the ground. Problem is that I like to plant right before or after a rain and that's been pretty scarce.
Sheila, the gulf frits are back. I actually noticed a cat on the passion vine last week and since have seen a few butterflies. The queens are starting to show up also and we've had occasional swallowtails and monarchs all along. Last year was such a wonderful year for butterflies. Hope this one will be also.
The backyard is a wonderful, peaceful place now that they have stopped drilling across the river behind us. I feel very blessed to be here.
Linda
It is georgeous, and I would love to see more pictures.
No GF cats here yet, but I have extra passion vines this year so I am devinately ready.
Such a wonderful idea and article! The two of you are to be commended for your originality and for making a garden out of "wasted" space and a friendship out of simple living next door to each other. Congratulations!
Ann
