Thank You Tim Russert ....

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

As we see, life is as unexpected as it is short.

And, I am beginning to see, it is probably a lot simpler than we may think, or more unfortunately, make it.

The key still seems to be centered around strong family values. Most importantly, remaining humble through earnest, hard work, honest ethics (note to politicians: it isn't as difficult as you think), never forgetting "where you have come from," and always being prepared (that means _always_ knowing what to expect).

As I tend the "memory gardens" this Father's Day I will reflect upon those from whom I have learned the most in regards to being human. Time to step it up another notch to honor those lessons.

If ever we had a Public Figure after whom to mold and direct our own lives, it would be hard to find another who even comes close.

Honestly, how hard is it to be the best person on the planet?? The challenge is a foot!

Happy Father's Day

I concur whole heartedly. I was very saddened to learn of Tim's death. He felt like a friend I just hadn't yet met.

Good post.

Willie I was glad to see your thread. It is reassuring to see the genuine outpouring of respect for Tim Russert, a man most of us knew only as a television personality, but who in real life was a loving husband, doting father, faithful son, and revered friend.

We watched him faithfully. We miss him terribly. Can't believe it is true. Our hearts go out to his family and friends and co-workers.

Tim was, by all standards, the best at everything he did.

Thank you, Willie, for your post.

I am inspired today to be the best, and to do it with integrity, kindness, humor and love for all those God has placed in my life. What better tribute can we pay Tim?

I am so pleased that a man such as Tim Russert has inspired so many people, probably unkowningly, to be as simple, straight-forward, honest, and as down-to-earth as he was during his short lifetime. Last night's photo on the news of Luke in his dad's studio was heart-breaking but so true. Tim Russert was a very approachable human being.

I will miss him.
