I have two new water lilies coming up. Each has about ten lily pads on the surface of the water. Is there any chance they will bloom this year?
Also, I have many, many Japanese iris seedlings from my own mix of J. iris and from a collection bought from a seed company. I would be interested in trading for other water plants. This is my first year with an old (28 years) pond which is simply dug out with a natural clay bottom. It has a fair number of gold fish and I just put a koi in.
Also, I have a good number of baby japonica primula to trade for water plants. In addition, I will send postage or plants for colorful lotus seeds or plants.
How long til it blooms?
Hi Gloria, you waterlilies will definitely bloom this year :) Quite soon I would bet!
If it is a tropical lily you will probably get a lot of blooms this year. If it is a young hardy lily you should still get blooms this year but it should really take off for you next. year after it has established itself. This is going to be so much fun for you!
Actually, a dark pink one bloomed yesterday. The other still has to bloom. I have a very large area already filled with lovely white lilies. The frogs like to hang out there as well as the gold fish. This is most exciting!
