Help: getting a solar pump

Plano, TX(Zone 7a)

Hi,

I am planning to put in a small pond (50 - 120 gallon size) using those preformed liners. I want create a small waterfall using a solar pump ( there is no electric outlet in the backyard and much to expensive to draw a new line etc). I would appreciate it if someone could recommed a good solar pump. I am looking for something that pumps 100 - 150 gph. There are a lot of solar pumps when I google them, but I am unable to find any reviews for them.

any help greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Hi xman, I can't recommend one because I've never used one. But I wanted to suggest if you were using one that won't be working at night that you not count on adding fish to your water garden and just keep it a watergarden. Circulation at night is important especailly in a very small amount of water where huge fluctuations can occur quickly. Plants (algae) that would normally add oxygen during the day use up oxygen at night.....not a good thing for fishies :(

I know you didn't say whether you wanted fish or not and I hope you take this how it is intended, helpful :o}

azreno,

Thank you for your reply. I am planning to create a pondless waterfall feature, so I do not need the 24 hour pump. I like the waterfall and the sound more than the pond itself.
I was hoping that someone is using a solar pump and could provide some insights, but so far no luck.

Yep, you can't beat the sound of water can you?

This is a common question but I don't recall ever seeing a whole lot of follow up on them. I would think surely there is one that would do what you are looking for which is really not much but great for your purpose. But like you said, reviews would be nice.
