Every night I come home and check to see if my angel wing that's in a hanging pot needs water. Well, one day I came home to discover that a bird had built a nest in it. As a bird watcher I agonized whether to pull the nest out or not. I loved the plant and decided since I didn't find any eggs I would pull the nest out.
Fast forward a couple days and I see a wren go into the plant and tonight after watering I discovered an egg, so of course I feel terrible. Has anyone else experienced a bird nesting in their begonia(s) before?

Wren nesting in Angel Wing
This is very cute. You should send in a picture.
BTW, did you ever order from Rob's violet. I'd be curious about the service. I am not from your area but would have ordered with you otherwise.

I should have taken some pics : )
I didn't order this time, but will probably order later down the line.
I've read other threads in the African violet forum and everyone seems to be very pleased with his product and service so I feel pretty comfortable ordering from him.

I've had wrens nest in begonia pots and cacti pots. No harm in the begonia pot but two cacti killed in the other pot (due to excess nitrogen?). Water the soil and you shouldn't have any problems.
I've ordered both violets and begonias from Rob's and the plants they sent were excellent.Lynn
I've had birds nest in hanging baskets before.. I kept watering as usual.. Being very gentle and careful.. The babies hatched.. I just irritated the Mom every time I watered..
Not in my begonias, but in my passionflowers and my black pepper. I have a nest of cardinals in my black pepper trellis right now.
