Silkie Chicks

Williamsburg, MI(Zone 4b)

This is the only silkie that actually hatched out chickens this year. The other two stole duck nests from the ducks and raised them till they got bigger than them. Then they were more than happy to have me take them off their hands. I love the one with the black pouf on it's head. They have been running around loose in the yard and sleeping with the fawns at night, but I am about to move them out to the silkie house so my plants can recover from their scratching.

Ahhhh! They are seriously sweet. How old are they?--they look about the same stage as my Silkie Riley. I only have the one so I don't know what is normal for this breed. So cute when they start getting their little "mohawks".

five or six weeks, I think

Yes that would be the same age. I thought it was odd that he didn't have his crest yet--but I am learning it develops over time. Thanks!
