Coming up from the basement after a tornado warning I noticed fluttering in my butterfly cage. Well it was pouring rain and I couldn't release right then but I had an iris on the table so popped it into the cage. When storm ended it was dark and very wet so this am I released. They put on quite a show climbing around, occasionally sitting on the flowers I offered.
I had walked past that cage on the landing all winter and almost forgot what was in there. How smart mother nature can be!!

So pretty! Yeah, it's hard to remember to always check the ones that overwintered. Good thing they flutter around so we can notice!
