What is this on my Quince Fruit??

Found growing on the fruit of my quince....not sure what it is but hopefully you do!

That is so wierd. It almost looks like some sort of parasitic wasp. Very, very strange indeed.

because Darius...I am still wet behind the ears...LOL ok I will try that and also Ardesias suggestion...I already tried the boss and he thought it was a wasp nest of some sort but I would like a little more into then that as I want to know what caused it and how to be sure I am rid of it!......

no branches have thankfully been affected as the link depicts! Thank you for the insight I do appreditate it....the fruit issue looks very similar to the pics but somehow not the same..either way I will treat it as a fungus and hopefull all will be well as I do have 10 rose bushes planted within 15 feet either way of the quince!
