Hi all,
My purple, 3 1/2 feet allium I planted as bulbs last Oct. came up beautifully. They are looking old and withered now, and not being a bulb person, what do I do with them now?
Thanks Vicki - OH WOW, SUN!! Gotta go!!
Allium did their job, now what do I do?
You can let the seed heads dry on the stalks, or, cut the stalks off & allow the foliage to die back.
If they are planted in an area where the dying foliage is too noticeable, you might want to relocate them behind a shrub or taller perennial. And yes, you can move them now - try to get as much of the root mass as possible. Water well - they'll do just fine.
I am still moving shrubs - the weather has been so cool to allow for relocating/editing this late in the Spring!
