i had a young yearling buck nibble his way thru my garden a cpl weeks ago
one of the things he tasted was one of (2) A. sikokianum coming back up this year
it was still unfurling at the time
this pict shows what it looks like after finally opening :-)

Kell, that is the coolest little Jack-in-the-Pulpit & so white. I noticed that you had this growing in a pot. Is that permanent or just until you find a place for it in the garden? My brother had purchased 3 bulbs @ $50/bulb & then later they were on sale for $38/bulb & he wanted to buy some & pot them up over the winter & plant out in spring or fall. Is this doable? I guess you would wait & transplant after it had bloomed right? I know his are in bloom now. Excellent photo.

Strever, that's a real bummer. Especially if the bulbs were pricey.

I so liked this one too!

It looks like Dick's will make it to bloom another day, hopefully

Broots, your brother paid that much for this bulb? I think I paid between $14 and maybe as high as $20 for each of my Arisaemas and all of them were flowering size. I am just learning about them but I got mine bare in wood shavings so I wonder if best to hold them over winter like that and then plant them in spring. I can dig up where I got mine from. Maybe you can order some from there or at least ask advice if they do not ship to Ontario.

Sadly, I have no real room to plant mine in the ground so they must be potted. However they are so interesting I rather like them potted. They live on my porch where I get to enjoy them daily.

Thanks for the info Kell. My brother's bulbs came bare like yours. He can always email the company he bought them from. They have a very good reputation, just a little pricey. I try to buy from them once a year, not $50 bulbs though.

Enjoy your arisaemas.
Linda
