The Brug World Working

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

OH.. this story goes back.. Last fall I had a D-Mail from a grower.. saying they'd like to send me a cutting.. well OK... what fun.. then...in the mail there was this lovely variegated fully leafed out hunk of brug.. it rooted nicely..and spent the winter under lights.. never with a insect ..or never to even loose a leaf.. inside.. or going outside in the spring.. today there's blooms on it.. [pictured ]
I 'dasked why I was singled out for such a nice gift... they said I was the ONLY person to send them brugs the year before.. when they were starting out... and today the flowering of that spirit.. my big gift was hearing it made a difference to someone... .and they were sharing..as a continuance with this gift..

What a wonderful story, Gordon.

I couldn't find any information on Peach Parfait other than it may be a re-named Maya. Do you have any information on this insect free Brug?

Great Story Gordon.... Pretty plant too. What is that about an insect free Brug? That really got my attention.

Yes..Betty & Betty. asIwas planting it .. it occoured to me it hadn't lost aleaf... even in the move outside...and through the rooting process and there were lots of things to upset it in the growing area... an occasional aphid outbreak.. averyfewwhite flies... and fewer spidermites... but I use a muiti product plant spray.. but still it was unusual..as neighbors wern't sofortunate
yes..all I could come up with wasit was indeed a Maya that was renamed by some one.r . it seems strongr than I remember Maya being though..

Oh Betty 2...the Equisetum hyemale came back for the second year... they say it's for zone 3 and higher.. I'd never have suspected it was that hardy.. I hadn't wanted to try it ..thinking it was more southern than would do well for me...
OH mother had 6 of her brugs come back from the winter.. just cut down to soil level... most were unmulched..
Horsetail.. { not my picture }

Clemen... well it surely lookslike mine... not quite as mottled in coloration as SnowBank.. but still having great mix of the green and white... early on.. I was going to have everything in the garden the green/white variegated coloration.... but since the varaigated roses... and plumeria are few ..I gave it up for some old favorite roses...
So.. where did you find all of the brugs... I saw a snowbank at my local nursery for about $45.
all the best with them... Gordon

Thanks Gordon, well I found them this week end at Hicks Nurseries, Jericho Tpke, Westbury $29.99 each. There is another nursery near by on that tpke, they had some bigger ones for $69.99, too much $$$ for me. I love the ones I got though! Clemen

GreatClemen... good prices... the difference in one for $30 and a $ 70 one might be only a month or so this time of year there.. Gordon
