I do not have that dahlia, but if you are growing it for the darker foilage...you might want to check out the Gallery series. I have many of that series and 3 of them that I have are the darker foilage. Google or check your local nurseries. These are shorter varieties but if you can find one you will have your dark foilage until next year.
Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Serenade and Singer are the dark ones I know of, I could not get Singer last year but have the other 3. My favorite is Art Deco. I just thought maybe you could satisfy your dark foilage taste and wait for the one you ordered. It is hard to find dahlia's unless they are already growing in pots this time of year..
This is my Art Deco, you can see it has the darker leaves and stems are purplish
