Rob's African Violets

Cypress, TX(Zone 9a)

I'm thinking of making an order and he puts 20 plants to a box so I was wondering if anyone in the Houston area is interested in splitting an order or I'd even consider splitting it 3 or 4 ways.

If anyone knows where to find minis and/or trailers in Houston that information would also be greatly appreciated.

Great idea! I hope somebody takes you up on it... :-)

I realize that Cypress is north of Houston???? (I think) We have a great gal in Victoria which is only 70 miles away for me called Jo'sViolets. She has an awesome selection of african violets. A lot of them are the old ones (and new ones, too) which grow great in our climate in Texas. She is open by appointment but always is available on Fridays. I bought 27 of them about 6 weeks ago. She only charges 4 and 7 dollars each. She has won at Nationals and been featured on the cover of AVSA magazine.

This is a possibility for you should you not find someone to share an order.

Let me try and hyperlink you to her selections.

Here is 'Sassy Night', a miniature. A lot of people like to buy them very small..........both to save money and to train them as you wish. I just buy whatever size she has of the cultivar I want.

Moon light trailer.

I have confidence in her plants as our local president of the AV club buys many of her plants from Jo and Marjorie wins lots of ribbons and best in class.

Good luck........

I considered buying from Jo, but Victoria is probably 2.5 - 3 hours away. Maybe on one of my visits to Rockport to visit my father in law I could stop by her place.

I find it more fun to pick and choose myself. Now, she has baby plants all crammed together not getting enough light, but it doesn't matter. The minute I get home, put them under the lights, they almost change overnight.

She also ships. She said the day I was there that she had shipped out all these plants and some lady told her the shipping was too high. They must not ship much in the way of plants because Jo had only charged her 15.00 for a big box of avs.

I really hope you get to stop by (be sure and call her) on your way to Rockport. I am sitting down the road from Rockport. (LOL)
