I have 4 of these guys on the siding of my house. I don't know if I should be nice to them or not. Can you help me identify? Thank you!

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention in the above, that they are only about 1/2" long.
Do you have a plant beneath or tree above? If so what type?
No plants directly beneath except a tiny bed with freshly tilled soil w/ Impatiens planted. But just off of that and below (you go 2 steps down stairs) there are Itea shrubs and Hydrangea and across the width of a the sidewalk from those are Pyramid Arborvitae. When cleaning the dead stuff out of the Arborvitae there were cocoon-like mounds on them that appeared to have eggs in them. I smashed those that I found. All are within 5 feet of each other. Although, now that I think of it, the neighbors' Swamp Oak tree and our Ash trees overhang the roof there and it was windy as heck here today.
