Little & Lewis - July 27

Langley, WA(Zone 7b)

Hi, everyone,

I know we had talked about this quite some time ago and had thrown the date of August 3 around a bit. I confirmed with L&L that we could come as a group on Sunday, August 3, and one of them said yes and then the other immediately called back and said no, they had their own family reunion planned for that date. The whole weekend is bad for them.

They said we could come on Sunday, July 27. If there are 8 or more of us, there is a charge of $5 per person. 7 or less, it's free. Odd, but I'm not about to quibble over $5.

We do have to let them know the exact time. So we need to back that out from the ferry ride. The summer schedule doesn't come out til 6/21 so we can wait til then but I'm assuming we will get going in the a.m. and try to arrive there by around 10 am or 10:30, depending on what time the ferry leaves.

What else do we want to tie in with on that day? Dragonfly? Hosta Jim's? Should we make lunch reservations somewhere or bring sack lunches for a park or???

Sweet! I haven't been there in a couple of years, so it will be great to
see what George and David have done, always enchanting.
In fact, I haven't seen what they have done with the new property.

Gwen, I will try to work on it, try to get the weekend off no promise as yet will let you know.
Heidi is doing a Farmers market on Fridays now. did you get the Email?

Gwen, count me in. this is the last year for them. so it's last chance time. I don't know how many times I've had a chance to see their garden art and canceled. I want to get up to the farmers market, I heard there's a lady selling Hosta. I would like to check it out. Jim

Gwen, you're all welcome to come by July 27, like before. I have been clearing property for new garden beds. just a continuation of the others. but it'll give me more room to work in maturing hostas and test beds for my hybrid seedlings. Jim

Odds are I won't be able to make it, but if some miracle occurs with Steve, I will jump at the chance.

I have heard that Hersonwood is going to be open some selected dates this summer and I am trying to find out if 7/27 is one of those dates. It would be great to combine a trip there with L&L, Jim's, and Heidi's. What a great day that would be!

Carole, we will keep our prayers going for miracles and also for Steve's health to improve. And that you will be able to join us! Perhaps one of his family members could come and give you some relief for one day? I don't know how you are holding up.

The open date for Heronswood is Saturday, July 26. I am not home to check my calendar but I think I have it available. Should I contact L&L and see if we can switch to one day earlier? Should we do an overnight?

Can people who have been to L&L, Heronswood, and Jim's let me know how much time we should allot to each stop? I know we need a minimum of 1 hour at Heidi's and probably more like 2. Also, anyone know the driving time between each place?

Gwen
