Ric and I just got back from a trip down to the Carolina’s. We stayed at Atlantic Beach N.C. and then moved down to S.C. and spent some time at two of their very nice State Parks Myrtle Beach and Huntington Beach. I had a great time looking for birds and trying to get a few good pictures. I hope you enjoy these shots.

Great series Holly! Very nice pics!
Glad you all liked them, I have more and will start another thread as soon as I can. I really had a great time getting the pictures and Huntington Beach State Park had 2 very nice programs on Birding. One gave the basics, how to use a field guide, binoculars and such and then a 1 hour out on the Salt marsh walkway to look for birds. The other was a trip out the causeway to spot Shorebirds both programs were great fun.
What a great experience Holly...thanks for sharing your trip with us!
Nice to see your birds Holly. Very nice pictures.
Holly, great pictures. Don't think I ever saw a Tri-color Heron, Next time I get down that way I'll have to keep an eye out for one. Like the Pelican shots....I can spend a lot of time watching them fish, fold up their wings and dive bomb the fish. I wonder how deep they go in the water before surfacing?
When my kids were small we would call them Teradactals. A couple of years ago my 30 yr old son called just to let me know that they had arrived at the beach safely. The message I got on my cell phone was "Teradactals, Teradactals" LOL
Part 2 is finished. Here is the link for anyone interested.
