First Bloom on this seedling

Lewiston, CA(Zone 7b)

This is a Rothkirch X Balao seedling, it was hidden in my GH. I was moving stuff out & there she was in all her glory. It is pretty dark pink & smells very good. Not too over powering, but you don't have to get too close to smell her either. and.. look at those twangers!

What a nice surprise. You can see the Rothkirch in those tendrils.

Such pretty tendrils ...lucky you ...what a great surprise!

Awesome tendrils :) ... say, I seem to see a lot of suaveolens in the area where the tube meets the edge. Does it come from Balao? I find it beautiful :D

Yes, Tonny, it is Balao pollen I would suspect being that it is the last name on the cross (Rk X Balao) Everything I have seen from these crosses seem to produce great seedlings.
Great to hear FBL is doing well, Mary. I have one of her cuttings potted up & almost in bloom.
Green Thumbs, It looked rose pink to me, but when I went to the GH this AM she has darkened up & does have a bit of an orange cast in there, It will be interesting when I get her out in the yard & she has her 2nd flush.
I'll be sure to get a pic of her 2nd blooming.

This seedling is a candida and has no suaveolens - influence at all. Balao is a versicolor, collected in Ecuador. I've send many seeds of this cross to the US and Canada.

I really do like those on a brug. Gives it a heavenly look I think!

It really is a beautiful color. I have always like the white and orange brugs, but I'm starting to take a fancy to those dark pinks, roses, reds, etc.

Very beautiful. and what a treat to find it. (Oh, how I would love a greenhouse.)

Monika, Thank you, by the way. They do look similar don't they. It did get darker, but wilted before I could get another pic of it. I have another plant of that same seed cross & the leaves are huge, no buds yet but the plant is WAY happy!
