We are lucky enough to have several purrformance artists live with us. Some of their works include clear social/political commentary while other pieces are more subject to interpretation.
The famous book "Why Cats Paint" covers traditional works of art, generally just using paint and a canvas. But purrformance art is freewheeling and subjective, and often uses more than one media.
When we first discoved the talents of our cat Patfish, I formed the "Center for Active Theater" (C.A.T.) here in Natomas, California. Patfish generally uses household products and fresh produce to make her observations on global warming, steroid abuse in sports and homemade milkshakes. She uses the world as her canvas. She is a "stealth" artist, preferring to perform her pieces in the dark of night. The discovery of her work by the audience the next day allows her to observe their reactions, thereby making them part of the piece.
A photograph of one of her earlier works is attached below. In this she allows the audience to be involved by observing the artist at work.

Is there a "purrformance artist" in your home?
