Just another mystery plant in flower in my garden that I doubt to be a weed, but I have no name for it.
What's this?
To bump it up, the foliage consists of one, maybe two tulip style leaves, coming from the base almost to the height of the flowers. The flowers are held on seperate stem arising from the base, too. The foliage is grayish green.
allium molly
Willow, you're too fast! Allium is my guess on the family of plants too: pinch it and see if it smells like onion.
I have white, pink and yellow of this.
Ditto: came as "mountain mix allium," I think, from some large nursery source and they reproduce like mad. The nice thing is you can unearth some bulbs and distract deer from munching in the area.
That's it! And for the record it is Allium moly, as that is its Genus and species. Just stepped out into the rain (coming down cats and dogs) to smell its alliaceous odor.
