Hi Everyone. I have a question that has nothing to do with a self made pond but a real fishing pond. I have what one person called Duck Weed coming up everywhere around the shore line. How on earth do I get rid of this stuff? Its taking over!

Do you have any pictures? There are a lot of things that people call duck weed. The stuff that I am thinking of as duck weed is an extremely small floating plant with long floating roots. I do not know how to get rid of it. Perhaps you could do a web search "eradicating duck weed" or "killing duck weed" or something like that.

The only way I know how to get rid of it is to drag the ponds surface and scoop it out.
You could always bring it to my house too buhaha.

Surely not! This stuff is gross!

Hmmmm slimy?
Duckweed isn't gross really... algae is though. Is it algae you have? Both make great fertilizer lol.

its gross when I have to stick my hand down in the mud and algae to pull it out!LOL

This is duck weed. It's the small floaters around my lotus leaf. Duck weed is usually a bright green.

Hmmmmmmmmmm a person could prolly rig up some of those water noodles somehow and just slowly drag them across the surface of the pond then scoop the plants out with a pool net?

My ducks enjoy eating it..Also the chickens and other fowl when I scoop it for them.. Mine is also a fishing pond..
