Until the end of the day today.

Bluestone Perennials - 1/2 off through the end of the day
Awesome! I just ordered some stuff ... pretty good deals, and the shipping was reasonable, even to "far away states" like Washington! :) I hope they're nice plants ...
Me, too. I have been getting their free catalog for the last couple of months - it'll have a code for getting more off. The deals seem to be pretty good.
What'd you get?
I'm pretty sure the website said that any discount codes won't work until the sale goes off tomorrow ... they're only showing the half price items until midnight tonight (Ohio time, I assume?)
I got a couple of daylilies, a heucheralla, a tiarella, a pasque flower, a columbine, an echinacia and a blue flower that I've never tried before (catanache), but loved the color! Some of them were singles, some came as groupings of 3. I spent about $60, including shipping. And no sales tax. :)
I can't wait to see how they look when they arrive ...
Oh yes, I meant that it's worthwhile to get the catalogue in future so that you might get the discount code.
Sounds like you made quite a haul. I'll have to look at the catanache - I do love blue. I was talking to Katye today about the tiarellas and how much they are charging for them. Way too much.
I bought a Sugar & Spice tiarella up in Issaquah earlier this spring ... and it was $15, which I thought was outrageous, but decided to get it anyways. It's doing very well in my garden, and it really is beautiful! The tiarella I bought from Bluestone was only $4.47 (half price) so that seems a lot more reasonable. It's Pink Brushes.
The other plant that I find to be outrageously expensive are the Heuchera's - and the Heucherellas. The Heucherella from Bluestone was $6.97 half price.
Seems the half price sale is the way to go, especially since shipping seems reasonable - and no sales tax (for now!). Shipping for orders up to $50 was $11.95.
Hello, Katy and Roxy!
I got a whole bunch of things. What a great sale. I mentioned that I belong to Dave's Garden and I would give them compliments on the Garden watchdog if they all looked good. The last bunch I received from them everything looked good but one. I will wait and see what they do. The price is great, so I'm really not complaining.
I have been disabled for about 4 years with knee and shoulders surgeries, so the gardens are a shambles. (I am 66 now!) I needed a lot to replace all the weeds that grew while I was recuperating. So I weed, before I plant, mainly concentrating on one bed t a time. It has been a challenge, but today I had to rest, as I have been going "full steam" all week, since it stopped raining. The week before the rain, it was very hot, and I thought that was going to be the end of the planting season, and now after the rain it has been clear, but windy. I hope your weather is good to both of you.
CHEERS!
Evelyn
Hi Evelyn - glad you could take advantage of the sale. Yes, those weeds grow even while you're laid up. Glad you're back in form, though I know it takes awhile to recuperate from surgeries. I'm not recuperating from a surgery, but the first few months in the spring I am sore on Mondays until I get into super-gardening shape.
No wind or rain, but it was cold (60) here today. The rain is supposed to be back this week. I do find, though, that weeding is a little easier when the ground is wet.
Thanks for posting. Enjoy your new plants. Wanna share with us what you got?
Kathy
I got my order last night. Everything looked great ex the phlox. It was wilting and the leaves looked curled with a blight of some kind. I mentioned to my husband that it was so typical - I cannot grow phlox! He pretended to be a phlox back at Bluestone - "You're sending me to whose house?" LOL
Hopefully it'll perk up. The rest all look fabulous and are pretty big. The dianthus has blooms!!
I'll hopefully get everything in the ground later this afternoon if it warms up at all. Right now it's cold and windy. Brrrrrrr. I may bundle up and go out later anyway when I get home.
Right now it's off to our annual tea party at garden club and then back to work for another hour or so and then home.
Gwen
Yay. That's exciting, Gwen - and pretty fast. Sounds like lots of people were able to get in on the sale.
And your husband sounds like a hoot.
That's good to know. And, if you get their catalog, it usually has a sale code to help defray costs when you order full-price stuff.
