The Fly
LOL, love your stories Paul!!!! That is (or was) a beautiful garden!
fly_girl....so glad you enjoy the stories.....That was my first garden.....Lord I loved that garden, I was so tickled that the management at the apartment let me more or less do what I wanted out back.....You know how folks take walks around an apartment complex so we had people coming by looking at the flowers almost every evening in the spring and summer....You know you could live in an apartment your whole life and never talk to a sole and I bet we knew almost everyone in the buildings around us.....Ain't no doubt about it, flowers bring folks together, which gives me an idea, a story about all them folks that used to come by and visit....See you gave me an idea for a story, I owe you one......:)
.....thanks again for taking the time to write....take care fly_girl

Same way with neighborhoods....flowers will get people to talk to each other.....and a little ego stroking can go a long way....heehee.
I'm eager to read the next one!
And.....thanks for sharing with us!
fly_girl....I don't have to have people tell me my garden is this or that, beautiful or spectacular...No, I'm not that kind of person, if they happen not to tell me things like that it's OK, I just don't let them leave till they do.....:)

Here I am laughing out loud and DH is saying "So what is it now?". I'm telling him you just have to read the essays of this new guy, Paul. Priceless, absolutely priceless.
Christi
I love this anecdote! Keep writing and sharing! My mother came by one morning when we were not home and found my husband's prosthetic leg lying against a chair in his study and assumed he had been transported to the hospital by ambulance. She did not realize he had an old one that he wears early in the day for the first cup of coffee before putting on the newer one that requires a bit more time to put on. The good that came from this is that my husband keeps his removable body part in the bedroom, not his study. :>)
Thanks Christi.....I appreciate it.....
patrob.....Sounds like my wife telling me that some things belong in the living room or den......and some things, well don't....:)

Paul, you could make turning on the water faucet seem marvelous and exciting because you have such a unique way of looking at things. I look forward to each day of your life to turn up something else wonderful. Thanks for being able to put all this down.
Ann
Your sure welcome Ann and I thank you for the nice things you said about my writing.....I don't know how other folks write, I reckon we all have our own ways that are comfortable to us, at least I do, I just sit down out here on the back porch and just type like I was talking to a bunch of Dave's garden folks that were sitting around in lounge chairs right here with me......I mean that's exactly how I look at writing.....just talking to folks.....and if in telling the story everybody laughs I'm tickled too....and in the forums if somebody enjoys the stories and relates to them or laughs or giggles at'em, then I'm tickled too just like if you was here with me....I don't really have a lot of company I guess, folks from town come over sometimes to see my garden, the nearby garden clubs and such come over too....and I'm so happy to be able to share my garden with them.....just like I'm so happy to be able to share my stories with all you folks......its like you all came over to my house to tell stories and look at the plants and talk that plant talk.......I mean that's all it is, but its everything to me.....and on that note I'm going to ease on and see what I can conjure up for lunch before I feed the birds theirs......

Well, you have done it again. Great story and chuckle today.
Thank you.
Bill
Bill I'm still thinking about that buffalo burger and I'm a vegetarian, well I am when I'm with my wife anyways.....she don't really mind me eating meat so much but likes it when I stay on the veggie wagon as it were...but when out visiting with friends etc I eat what is offered and lots of it usually....:)
And thanks for taking time to read the story and to write me....I'm glad you liked it.....getting ready to post another one in a minute, about got it ready....I don't have to explain my stories usually, one word suffices, Goofy......:)
