I started this pink from cuttings, it has not bloomed yet, but now I am noticing some kind of a virus on the leaves. They get spots and then the spots become holes. What do you think it is?
What is this on my leaves?
It's not a virus, looks like insect damage. Spider mites make a stippled pattern on the leaves but I think there are other things that will do that too. I'd take a careful look at the underside of the leaves--if it's spider mites they are very, very tiny little brown dots, sometimes if they're bad enough you'll see some webbing too but not always. Once you see what's underneath your leaves, I'd take the plant and hose it off, making sure to get the undersides of the leaves. Then you'll want to treat the undersides of the leaves with an appropriate insecticide--if it's spider mites look on the label and see if it kills them, if it's something else then see if you can post a pic/description of the bug here if you find anything on the underside of the leaves, then once you know what it is you can see if your insecticide kills it or not. While you're waiting to see what it is, you could try neem or insecticidal soap or something else that's fairly broad spectrum, chances are it'll take care of the problem.
Thank you so much for the help. I hope it isn't spider mites I already have a problem with white flies and aphids. I will take a look.
