could it be in the family of the amarante..? it was among the plectranthus...and chlorophytum

I want to use it in the garden....

Acalypha (copperleaf) is what you have. It is not a begonia but is in the Euphorbiaceae family.

I doubt it would spread for you in Quebec.

This is very much a large 'shrub', and would not be hardy for you outdoors...so it wouldn't have time to spread if your area experiences a cold winter.

Most Acalyphas are hardy only to about zone 9, I think.

I didn't even realize until recently that the one called "Chenille Plant" is an Acalypha. I love some of these with the bright colorful foliage. They are grown a lot down here in Florida as landscape plants.
