I have found a white fungus looking stuff on some of the leaves. What should I do? Will a rose fungucide work? Thanks, Tim

If the area in question looks like the photo here http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.plantranchco.com/Bugs/Images/MealyLarge.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.plantranchco.com/Bugs/Mealy.htm&h=326&w=432&sz=22&hl=en&start=19&um=1&tbnid=c5kwStntWEbDeM:&tbnh=95&tbnw=126&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmealie%2Bbug%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-US%26sa%3DN then you probably have mealie bugs. The Hoya compacta is a perfect haven for them.
Treat small infestations with direct spray or Q-tip application of undiluted alcohol. BATS (Bayer Advanced Tree and Shrub) is a systemic that will get rid of them for a year and is safe.
