I would like to put in a Welcoming Garden in front of my home and would like to know if anyone has done this before?

What did you put in it?

My front of my house faces West so yes it gets afternoon sun , But it is also shaded with to Ash trees.

What would you put in it?

I would like something different than what you see in everyday life in front of a house?

By the way what is this YES and NO in front of a topic?
