Irish - I had one of these a few years ago and managed to kill it. I believe the yellow coloring is part of the plant, kinda pale yellowish to almost white in the leaves as I recall, with some green also. Will try again as I really like it.

I have a variegated Tapioca that I recieved about a year ago. Likes some direct sunlight and a good amount of water, grows fast. Cuttings root easily also. I have a photo on my webpage.

Out here in So Cal Manihot esculenta is considered a weed by many, as it ends up all over the garden once it flowers and seeds. I think they have cool looking leaves so I keep mine. It attracts more bees in the early morning hours than any other plant I have ever seen... there are literlly hundreds of bees... maybe even thousands... you can hear the hum all over the yard... yet by 10AM all the flowers close up and the bees are gone. Very strange plant. I live in a pretty cool area north of LA and the plant defoliates in the winter. Variegated Manihots are gorgeous, but totally rot in the winter here (too tropical). If anyone wants one, they can be grown easily from cuttings as well as seed/seedlings (I have none of the latter right now since rounded them all up).
