It really does stay pretty small, doesn't it? I have a couple of them from Arbor Day. They're just sticks now, but hopefully I can keep them going . . .

Very pretty. That's quite a show. How long do the blossoms last?

Beautiful Jack ~ how old is the tree and how big? Real eye candy. It's one of my mom's favorites.

Sheri, My friend has some to dig up, they are 4 of 5 feet tall, there are 2 and I want one.
Love the Pics, Jack Just makes me want it more. LOL

Crescent City, CA

It is about 13 foot in diameter and in excess of 15ft. tall. It was planted several years ago and I can't even give a good guess on how long ago.
Right now it is covered with bees and birds. Bees collecting pollen and I don't know what the birds do.

Tills ~ If your friend has an extra, I'd be happy to take it off his/her hands! ^_^

Beautiful tree. One of my favorites also. I had one but planted it in the wrong spot and my DH made me take it out. Darn

Commonly-used term to refer to a husband = Dear Husband. Similarly, you could refer to DW (Dear Wife), DS (Dear Son). Other family references are SIL, BIL (sister or brother-in-law).

This texting generation is affecting us all . . . LOL (Laugh out loud).

ROTFLMBO ~ Rolling on the floor laughing my butt off.

Didn't someone post in one of these threads a link to the texting vernacular? I seem to recall something like that ~

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Yes, it's buried in one of those threads somewhere, but who knows where?

I love the idea that there this guy named Don Hansen that we keep referring to in our threads. Everybody knows him. LOL

Sorta like Jeremy Bentham in LOST last Thursday.

Port Angeles, WA(Zone 8b)

EEEEEKKKK! "LOST!" Can't talk about it. We're only on Disk 4 of Season 2. Can't even look at Google News if it says anything about "Lost."

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

OMG. How can you stand it? Catch up, girl!! So much has happened. Well, at least this season is over with and there's less chance that you'll get surprised with facts.

There is so much going with this show, though, that it's easy to forget stuff. There are so many story lines . . .

Anyway, I'll say no more. :-p

Sheri you got it, as soon as my DH can dig them up.

Carole I am sure, on her property I might find another. these two where right out there and she does not want them, she has a BBBBig one.

I would love it, Tills - thank you.

I thought DH probably meant division of highways, that it was too close to the road.

sorry.

Jack -

How would you know? That's as good a guess as any . . .

How long do the blossoms last on your tree? And how old was it when you first planted it? Does it take it awhile to get established?

Crescent City, CA

It was a potted plant probably about 3 to 4 foot tall whrn we bought it. That was forever long ago. We planted it and it never hesitated. It gets a little taller every year. You must remeber, we have lots of rain and we do not have very cold winters. We get frost but the temp rarely goes below 30 very often. We even have roses occasionally blooming at xmas. So once a plant gets over that initial transplanting shock it usually does pretty good. It started blooming about 2 weeks ago building to the way I showed in the pic. I will post a note when the blooms start their mass drop.Right now, there are just a couple of flowers dropping but they will make a mess sooner or later when they all start falling. I will post a note on the forum when they do. Sorry I can;t be more specific.

So driving home from my mom's today, along a route I take quite often (she lives 10 miles away), I noticed 7 different golden chain trees which I have not noticed in the past. Maybe because they just started blooming? Love them...they add so much color!
